236 Hyundai used Conexpo 2014 to launch the HR120C-9, the first in a new range of soil compactors that will only be available in selected markets. The HR120C-9, made for Hyundai by 162 Atlas Weyhausen, is a 12tonne machine equipped with a smooth drum and a permanent front axle weight of 6.9tonnes.

Expected to meet Tier 4 final emissions regulations, the compactor uses a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emissions control system, which requires the use of diesel exhaust fluid.

Hyundai’s HR series of soil compactors is likely to Span operating weights between 12 and 13.9tonnes, and share a drum width of 2.1m. Power comes from a Deutz TCD2012 L4 engine, providing either 96kW and 103kW of output depending on the model.

Elsewhere on its stand, Hyundai also showed off a new backhoe loader at Conexpo 2014, called the H930C. The four-wheel drive, centre-mount backhoe tips the scales at 7.1tonnes and uses a 63kW engine.www.hceamericas.com
