Highways UK event in Birmingham is highly positive

Strong industry support is being achieved for the upcoming Highways UK event, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC on 16th and 17th November 2016. The Chartered Institution for Highways and Transportation (CIHT) has become a principal supporter of Highways UK. CIHT's collaboration includes hosting a programme of industry briefings within a dedicated theatre and encouraging the active participation of its 13,000-strong membership of transportation professionals.

Strong industry support is being achieved for the upcoming 8269 Highways UK event, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC on 16th and 17th November 2016. The Chartered Institution for Highways and Transportation (CIHT) has become a principal supporter of Highways UK. CIHT's collaboration includes hosting a programme of industry briefings within a dedicated theatre and encouraging the active participation of its 13,000-strong membership of transportation professionals.

CIHT's input will complement the other principal supporter of the event, 8100 Highways England. This will also underpin the organisers aim to engage with local authorities and extend the remit beyond the strategic roads network to all roads that support economic development at a national, regional and local level.

CIHT's programme will sit alongside Highways England's stakeholder and supply chain activities, together with two other industry briefing theatres, a major exhibition and a high-level conference.

All the launch partners have confirmed their continuing support in 2016 and more than 60% of the exhibition space is now contracted. The private sector organisations involved includes Kier, 2319 Costain, 2435 Carillion, 2567 Morgan Sindall, 3137 BAM Nuttall, 2579 Mott MacDonald, 3005 Atkins, 1397 AECOM, Arcadis, mace and EY.
