269 LiuGong is following up its introduction of its first E series excavator, the 922E, with a whole new range. The top-of-the-line model is the its 945E, which competes in the 45tonne class, features a 2.2m3 bucket and is powered by a 196 Cummins diesel delivering 298kW. Also due are the 30tonne class 930E and 25tonne class 925E, which share similar features. The E-Series excavators are offered with the LiuGong Intelligent Power Control System (IPC), which provides more accurate matching and control over engine speed and main pump flow. This is said to deliver more efficient power delivery, fast and smooth response and lower fuel consumption. A new high visibility cab is common to the range and this is also said to offer greater room for the operator than on previous models.
The new generation JS crawler excavators from JCB are said to deliver increased performance along with reduced running costs. The JS220, JS260 and JS360 are all powered by Isuzu diesels that meet the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements with reduced fuel consumption and increased torque rise. For developing markets, there is also a Tier 2 compliant version of the JS220 powered by a JCB 448 Dieselmax engine with a similar output to the 129kW Isuzu diesel in the Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB model. A new version of Hidromek’s well accepted HMK220LC excavator is being offered with a long reach boom for use in special earthmoving and drainage applications. Called the HMK200LC LR, this machine is designed for fine grading at long reach, as well as for duties such as ditching and drainage clearance.
