The 4400 makes Gomaco one of only a handful of manufacturers with equipment to slipform the Brit Pave Safety Barrier – the only barrier that currently meets new 1116 European Union CE certification for highways set to become compulsory in July 2013.

Rory Keogh, Gomaco’s managing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and CIS, is excited about the potential market for the firm’s new machine.

“You can operate the 4400 on any highway in the direction of traffic flow. In a lot of places, you cannot work against the traffic,” said Keogh.

Collapsible for easy transportation in a 40ft container and designed to work inside one traffic lane, the 4400 can be used for right or left-side paving jobs, with changeovers said to take just 20 minutes.

The machine also features Gomaco’s latest G+ control system.

“It integrates with 3D control systems and is set up at INTERMAT on 265 Leica, but it will work with all the 3D control system manufacturers.

“The 4400’s operator visibility is the best on the market. They can clearly see the product coming out and the truck in front.”
