Germany: Baden-Württemberg prioritises 20 federal trunk road projects
The German province of Baden-Württemberg has issued a list of 20 ready to be built federal trunk road projects worth a combined US$1.01billion (€800mn).The first five could be started in 2014 and the next five in 2015 or 2016.

The German province of Baden-Württemberg has issued a list of 20 ready to be built federal trunk road projects worth a combined US$1.01billion (€800mn).The first five could be started in 2014 and the next five in 2015 or 2016.
Köster and Baresel have been awarded the contract for the construction of the 4.2km long Hirschhagen tunnel in the German federal state of Hesse. Since the contract worth around US$ 335.14 million (€247mn) has been signed, the construction of what will be the longest road tunnel in Hesse could start in spring 2013. The Hirschhagen tunnel is part of the A44 motorway between Kassel and Eisenach. If all goes as planned, the tunnel is due to be opened for traffic at the beginning of 2018.
Liebherr has started building a new components development and manufacturing plant in Biberach an der Riss (Baden-Württemberg) in southern Germany.
The development and manufacture of switchgear and also electric motors and generators, currently functions of the company's existing factory in Biberach, are to be relocated to the new site. With the new plant, Liebherr-Components Biberach will have the additional capacity necessary to meet the growing demand of these products in the long term.
Plans are in hand for transport expansion in China. This includes major works in the Chinese provinces of Hubei and Hebei as well as the city of Yibin. In Hubei province the infrastructure programme calls for 6,500km of highway to be complete by the end of 2015. Hubei Province has spent US$17.07 billion in the first three years of the 12th Five-Year Period (2011-2015) on highway construction.
