The German province of Baden- Württemberg has issued a list of 20 ready to be built federal trunk road projects worth a combined US$1.01billion (€800mn).The first five could be started in 2014 and the next five in 2015 or 2016.
The Indian Government has set out plans to award highway projects worth at least US$8.84 billion during the next fiscal year. These projects will be offered under the hybrid annuity model, according to a report in the Economic Times. KPMG has stated that some 21 projects for a total of 1,500km and worth close to a third of that sum will be granted by the Indian Government in the current fiscal year.
The European construction equipment manufacturer’s association, CECE, has released its strongly positive Economic Report for 2014. China’s Hunan Province is developing its transport infrastructure with a series of major projects now being planned. Over US$4.06 billion will be spent on constructing nine highways in the province and these new routes will measure a total of 535km.
