The German province of Baden- Württemberg has issued a list of 20 ready to be built federal trunk road projects worth a combined US$1.01billion (€800mn).The first five could be started in 2014 and the next five in 2015 or 2016.
New data from Germany and Portugal reveals continued improvement in road safety, with a reduction in fatality levels for both countries. Final figures from the German Federal Statistics Office, Destatis, reveal a reduction in road related deaths for 2012. Some 3,600 people died on Germany’s roads in 2012, a 10.2% drop from the previous year. Meanwhile for the first six months of 2013, some 227 people were killed in vehicle crashes in Portugal, a drop of 18% compared with the previous year.

A new report highlights the growth for sales of construction machines into the Indian market. This market did see a drop in the 2014-2015 period but has been growing quickly since 2016. In 2016 52,000 construction machines were sold in India, an increase of 37% over the previous year, according to the report by Off-Highway Research.
