Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
Ethiopia is to benefit from a series of road upgrade and road construction projects with a total value of some US$2.51 billion. So far 58 separate road contracts have been awarded by the Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA). The contracts vary, with some being for the construction of new roads and others for upgrading work, including surfacing rural dirt roads with asphalt.
The Malaysian Government is giving its approval for a new expressway project. The road link will be built by West Coast Expressway (WCE) and is expected to cost in the order of US$2.32 billion.
Work on a new bridge spanning the Yangtze River in China is now underway. The Wangdong Yangtze River Bridge project is expected to cost US$758.6 million to construct.
Malaysian construction group Bina Puri has submitted bids for contracts worth US$768.73 million for work on eight infrastructure projects, including the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway and the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway.
The 31.8km Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway will reduce traffic along the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 from Ampang to Bandar Tasik Selatan. There will be three toll plazas in Alam Damai, Taman Bukit Teratai and Ampang Indah.
