Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
The 2010 bauma China event did, as expected, break all previous records, with companies launching more new equipment than ever. Patrick Smith reports. The queues at the entrances on the first day of bauma China 2010 indicated what the rest of the week had in store. As thousands of visitors poured through the gates each day to view the latest in construction equipment at the expanded Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the organisers knew they were looking at another successful event.
Completion of the R2 in south central Slovakia between the towns of Zvolenska Slatina and Pstrusa will be delayed until May, local media report.
The 7.8km project, including seven bridges, is worth €82.3 million and is being carried out by the consortium of construction companies Chemkostav IS and Corsan Corviam Construccion.
When finished the R2 will stretch around 305km from east to west.
A South Korean contractor is to carry out construction work on a key Qatar project. The contract for the project was awarded by Qatar’s public works authority Ashghal to Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C).
