Construction starts on Yichang section of China’s Yichang-Yueyang expressway
Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).

Construction works have begun on the Yichang section of China’s new Yichang-Yueyang expressway. Covering 51.8km, the Yichang expressway section will cost around US$613.35 million (CNY 3.82bn).
In China Chongqing municipality has announced plans to invest close to US$12 billion (74.5 billion RMB) in transportation developments in 2015. Chongqing plans to spend $5.97 billion (37.1 billion RMB) in road construction, including 5,000km of rural roads while three new highways are due for completion in 2015. Other transport investments including spending boosting the rail network in the city by 155km and developing civil aviation.
Malaysia-based highway operator Projek Lintasan Kota (Prolintas) plans to launch two highway projects in 12 months' time following a US$2.51 billion (MYR 8bn) investment. The highways in the Klang Valley are the Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Elevated Expressway (Suke) and the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (Dash).
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico says his government plans to spend US$10.76 billion (€8bn) on improving road infrastructure until the end of its term in office in April 2016. The plan includes the construction of 140km of motorways and expressways before April 2016, while a further 310km are hoped to be under construction, and 200km should be ready for the start of the building works. Contracts are now being awarded for a major new expressway project in Malaysia. The contracts relate to the project to construct the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Expressway (SUKE). Malaysian firm Gabungan AQRS is now handling a US$126.4 million subcontract for the project that involves building a bridge section. This package of works should take two years to complete with the work scheduled to finish by the end of 2018.
