Calls for Czech Republic R7 dual carriageway project funds

Mayors of north-west Bohemia have urged the Czech Prime Minister to provide funds for the completion of the R7 dual carriageway. The project was launched in 1964 but has made slow progress. There are several completed sections while preparation of others was cancelled in 2012. At present, a 15.8km section between Chomutov and Velemysleves is being built with completion scheduled for September 2013.   • Construction to start on Hungary’s revamped M4 project in 2016

    The Hungarian government has announced that it will restart work on a new section of the M4 dual carriageway between Albertirsa and Ullo in 2016. Hungarian media reported that the government will invest around €192 million and no funding will come from the European Union, of which the country is a member.
