Bonfiglioli Trasmital has developed a new series of travel drive gearboxes for use in large, heavy duty tracked machines. The firm is now offering three new product sizes, the 722C, 724C and 726C, which extend its range of tracked travel drives. The 722C develops a maximum torque of up to 330,000Nm, making it suitable for use on excavators of 120-150tonnes, as well as cranes and drilling rigs of 180-230tonnes. Bonfiglioli develops new series of travel drives
5073 Bonfiglioli Trasmital has developed a new series of travel drive gearboxes for use in large, heavy duty tracked machines. The firm is now offering three new product sizes, the 722C, 724C and 726C, which extend its range of tracked travel drives. The 722C develops a maximum torque of up to 330,000Nm, making it suitable for use on excavators of 120-150tonnes, as well as cranes and drilling rigs of 180-230tonnes. The 724C develops a maximum torque of up to 450,000Nm, and is specially designed for large cranes and drilling rigs of up to 300tonnes. Finally, the 726C transmits a maximum torque of up to 625,000Nm, for use in excavators of up to 350tonnes and cranes and drilling rigs of up to 400tonnes.
Liebherr has added a second model to its articulated hauler range with the TA240. The 40 tonne capacity truck has a 27m3 body and a 6x6 driveline. Power comes from a 16.2 litre Stage IIIB Liebherr V8 diesel engine delivering 350kW (476hp). This enables the truck to reach maximum speeds of up to 57km/h. Terex aerial work platform business Genie has unveiled, what it claims, is the world’s biggest self-propelled boom, the SX-180. Intended primarily for oil and gas industries, construction and industrial maintenance, the boom has a 54.9m vertical working height and a 24.4m horizontal reach. Equipped with a 2.44m by 0.91m basket, and a 3.05m rotating jib, the machine has a working capacity of 340kg.

Models brought to bauma by Soilmec included two new multipurpose hydraulic crawler cranes for heavy-duty applications. Among key features of the SC-70 and SC-90 is a design that enables easy transport and set-up on site. The cranes are modular for fast conversion between a range of applications, such as use with a hydraulic or mechanical grab, hydromill, chisel, vibratory driver or clamshell.
