Bolivia’s ABC has 2013 road construction budget of US$611.98mn

The Bolivian Road Administration, ABC, has a 2013 state budget of US$611.98 million (BOB 4.29bn) for 2013, according to the firm’s president, Luis Sanchez. Bolivia has 16,000kms of roads. Work on a new section of the road between La Paz and Ilo is underway.

    It will cost US$ 7 billion over the next 20 years to maintain the US state of North Dakota’s township and county roads, according to a new study by the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at North Dakota State University. The study highlights how the roads have been affected by truck traffic following the growth in North Dakota's economy. A similar survey was done by the UGPTI in 2010. Spending worth $654 million was suggested on road upkeep for the coming 24 months.

    Colombia's national infrastructure agency ANI will auction 13 road projects with a combined value of more than US$7.87 billion (COP 15 trillion) in H1 2014, out of 40 planned. Nine of the scheduled auction projects have gone through the pre-qualification stage and will be definitely awarded in the first quarter of next year. In total, all 40 projects will involve investments of COP 47tn. The plan is to improve 8,000kms of roads in the country.

    NDS, the Slovak national motorway company, plans to spend US$2.21 billion (€1.7bn) between 2013 and 2016 on motorway construction projects in the Zilina region of Slovakia. Milan Gajdos, the firm’s managing director and chairman, said that post 2016 a further $1.04 billion (€800mn) will be invested in the region. Currently, tenders worth $1.82 billion (€1.4bn) for motorway projects in the region are already underway, including tenders for stretches of the D1 and D3 motorways. It is still not known whether t
