The construction industry’s social, contemporary and practical contribution to developing modern society and improving worldwide living conditions will be celebrated during 688 Bauma at the 3rd  gala edition of the 7163 Pilosio International Building the Peace Award.

The event, presented by renowned former CNN journalist Aleesio Vinci, will take place from 5pm on Wednesday April 17th 2013 at the Pilosio Stand (N 1020/1). The two previous editions in 2011 and 2012 drew guests from around the world from more than 20 countries.

Last year, the award offered by the Italian formwork and scaffolding solution specialists was won by the innovative Italian architect Mario Cucinella, along with the UN’s representative in the Palestinian territories, Munir Manneh, for their project A Green School for Gaza. Thanks to them, a completely self-sufficient school is currently under construction in the challenging land of Gaza.

Pilosio’s International Building the Peace Award is also an opportunity to showcase some acclaimed international speakers, such as the Indian business guru Ram Charam, who was the star Award night guest in 2011.

As well as leading speakers, previous award ceremonies have seen contributions from many representatives of major construction companies and sector operators took to the stage, such as Italcementi, 975 Rizzani De Eccher, 3611 Saipem, 2800 Saudi Binladin Group, Unispan, and the Arabian Roots Group.

Engcon has introduced a new range of tilt-rotators, using a cast housing to greatly increase capacity. The EC218 and EC226 replace the EC15 and EC20 respectively. The former is suitable for machines up to 18tonnes in operating weight, while the latter is designed for excavators up to 26 tonnes. The cast housing incorporates internal lubrication channels for centralised greasing, reducing the risk of dust ingress or damage while operating.
