Transport for St Louis Missouri will be improved with work to upgrade a road connection to the west of the city

A road widening and upgrade project costing $131 million will be carried out by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) in Missouri. Highway N in St Charles County to the west of central St Louis will benefit from a key widening project.

At present State Route N features a single lane in either direction. The work will see a stretch of the route being improved so that it features two lanes in either direction. Traffic lights and roundabouts will also be built at several intersections to optimise traffic flow and safety for drivers. New facilities for cyclists and pedestrians will also be added as well as better connections for commercial areas.

The work will be carried out between the connections with Lake St Louis Boulevard and Highway Z. The construction work will help boost connectivity for the west side of St Louis where new housing and commercial properties are being built at present. This will help with the redevelopment of the greater St Louis area, as well as helping transport to and from the city’s central business district.
